Who We Are

Our Story and Mission

Riang Advisory was established in Penang with a clear purpose: to offer financial education that fits the reality of people who have spent two or three decades building something — and who now want to understand it more fully.

The name Riang carries the spirit of ease and lightness. That quality is intentional. We noticed that many Malaysians in their forties, fifties, and beyond carry a quiet anxiety about money — not from carelessness, but from a system that rarely explained things clearly along the way. EPF statements, insurance policies, and investment documents are often read without genuine comprehension. Our work is to change that, one person at a time.

We are not a financial planning firm and do not sell products. That distinction matters. Every session is shaped purely by what will help you understand — not by what benefits a commission structure. We cover net worth, retirement readiness, investment awareness, protection principles, and estate considerations — all within the Malaysian regulatory and cultural context.

Our office is in Tanjung Tokong, Penang. Sessions can also be arranged remotely for participants elsewhere in Malaysia. Whether you attend in person or online, the approach remains the same: unhurried, frank, and grounded in your specific circumstances.

Fifteen years in personal finance education across Malaysia. Halim developed the Riang methodology after observing how conventional financial advice often bypassed understanding in favour of product placement.
