From Our Participants

In Their Own Words

ZR

Zulaikha Ramli

Butterworth, Penang · March 2025

"I had never calculated my net worth before attending the workshop. I always assumed it was too complicated — all those EPF statements and loan balances. Halim walked us through the whole thing with patience. By the end of the second session I had a clear number and a way to update it each year. That alone was worth it."

Net Worth Awareness Workshop

KL

Khor Lee Meng

Georgetown, Penang · February 2025

"The Global Market course answered questions I had been carrying for years. Why does the ringgit weaken when US interest rates rise? How do I actually access foreign markets from Malaysia? Raymond explained it all with real examples, not textbook diagrams. I felt more confident reviewing my unit trust portfolio afterwards."

Mohd Hasri bin Yusof

Balik Pulau, Penang · January 2025

"What I appreciated most about the Mentorship Programme was that the sessions were about me, not a generic outline. We spent two full sessions on my EPF because that was the biggest gap in my understanding. No rushing, no 'we'll get to that later.' Just proper attention to what actually mattered for my situation."

Financial Mentorship Programme

Siti Goh Hui Ling

Bayan Baru, Penang · March 2025

"I went to many seminars before this. Most of them ended with someone trying to sell me something. Riang Advisory was completely different. We talked about my actual numbers, my actual situation, and when the session ended there was no pitch. Just a follow-up email with the notes from our conversation."

Financial Mentorship Programme

RN

Ravi Naidu

Tanjung Tokong, Penang · February 2025

"I did the Net Worth workshop first, then enrolled in the Mentorship programme six months later. The progression made sense. The workshop gave me the foundation to understand what the mentorship was building on. Norzahra was clear and never made me feel embarrassed for asking basic questions."

Net Worth Workshop + Mentorship

TP

Tan Peck Lim

Nibong Tebal, Penang · January 2025

"The Global Market course helped me see why my international fund performed differently from what I expected. I had been reading the news but not understanding how it connected to my portfolio. Three sessions later, the connections were obvious. Good pacing, good examples, and the course notes are still on my desk."

Learning Journeys in More Detail

Case Study 01 — Net Worth Awareness Workshop

The Situation

A 52-year-old civil servant approaching early retirement had a rough sense of her assets but had never added them up in one place. She knew her EPF balance and her house value, but not whether her combined position was healthy for a retirement in three years.

What the Workshop Did

Over two sessions, she identified and valued every asset, listed all outstanding liabilities including a remaining PTPTN balance and a personal loan, and completed a full net worth calculation. She also received a spreadsheet she now updates quarterly.

The Outcome

She discovered her net worth was stronger than expected — and that the personal loan represented a larger drag than she had appreciated. She accelerated repayment and enrolled in the Mentorship Programme six months later to explore retirement income planning in depth.

Case Study 02 — Financial Mentorship Programme

The Situation

A 47-year-old business owner had accumulated several investments across unit trusts, a few stocks, and a commercial property — but had never reviewed them as a coherent portfolio. He was also uncertain whether his Takaful coverage remained adequate for his current situation.

What the Programme Covered

Five of the six sessions focused on investment portfolio analysis, insurance coverage review, and basic retirement modelling. The final session brought everything together into a personal financial summary document. Four follow-up consultations provided space to act on what had been learned.

The Outcome

He identified two redundant unit trust positions and consolidated them. He also found a gap in his critical illness coverage and was able to address it with appropriate context. He described the programme as "the financial review I had been postponing for ten years."
